Jonique Reckley

Andrea Charlene Gibson

Andrea Charlene Gibson

Jonique is a committed community leader with extensive experience in the

nonprofit sector and presently holds the position of chairman at The Bahamas

Children’s Emergency Hostel in Nassau, Bahamas. Her journey started with a

fundamental belief that every child has the right to a safe and supportive

environment for learning and growth, and she remains dedicated to her ongoing

mission of providing a secure space for marginalized children in her community.

Jonique's career encompasses a diverse range of roles, such as accounting,

procurement, concierge services, project management, property management, and

estate services. Her ingenuity and skill in turning vision into actionable strategies

have enabled many of her clients to reach their goals one project at a time.

Her commitment to child welfare stems from observing the displacement of many

children from underprivileged communities and her aspiration to offer them

comfort. She understands the difference nonprofits can make and is dedicated to

helping the “It Takes One Foundation” support even more children in need.

When Jonique isn’t advocating for the protection of our most vulnerable in society,

she enjoys volunteering at her local orphanage, immersing herself in a captivating

novel, or cherishing moments with her family and friends

Andrea Charlene Gibson

I am Andrea Charlene Gibson, and I currently serve as the General Manager of the

Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel, a position I have held for the past six years.

I am a proud native of Nassau, Bahamas. I received my early education at Stephen Dillet

Primary School and Jordan Prince William High School, and I am a graduate of the

College of The Bahamas, where I earned an Associate of Arts degree in French and

Communication, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance.

Over the years, I have built a diverse professional career across both public and private

sectors. My service began in the Royal Bahamas Defense Force as a Marine, after which

I joined the Ministry of Works, where I worked in Supplies Management for twelve years

as a Senior Executive Officer. I later spent three years in the tourism sector, followed by

a role in education as a school administrator, before assuming my current position in the

non-profit childcare facility.

I am deeply committed to public service and guided by the values of integrity, fairness,

accountability, and respect for the law, with strong principles which I believe are

fundamental to the that I currently utilize at the Hostel. Outside of my professional

responsibilities, I enjoy traveling, reading, engaging with people, promoting Bahamian

culture, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
